Best Blogger Blog Reader and Editor Roundup for Android to edit plain or html blogs, like Blogaway

With the advent of Internet access on the go through smartphone, blogging went mobile as well. While one can do micro-blogging with Twitter and such, and one can also do "e-mail to blog" or "SMS to blog" if you set up within Blogger. But why not blog to the real thing? Thus, the Blogger Editors. 

Here is a roundup of the blogger clients available for Android. 

Please note that these are Blogger clients, not Wordpress clients. 

Blogger just recently published their own official Blogger client, and it is great except for minor quibbles.

The official blogger client have no problem handling multiple blogger accounts, multiple blogs within the same account, and so on. You can also attach photos, even call up the camera directly from within the client. You can also add the location (or not).

You can also save the entry into draft but NOT publish it.

And of course, you can view the blog itself by calling up the web browser.

Problems? Can't really think of any. This is not meant to be a full replacement of blogger client inside a browser. This is for quick on-the-spot blogging that micro-blogging can't do.

Overall, this is the best of all Blogger clients available on Android.

This one is a blog reader, commenter, and poster. This one supports multiple blogs properly. I have six blogs and this one have no problem telling them apart. However, a lot of functions were not obvious, as it's hidden behind menus that must be popped up via MENU key.
It can upload a picture in gallery, but does not support direct capture (i.e. call up camera directly). Also editing an post seem to lost the uploaded picture. Commenting works very well. It also has geotag, signature, and a few other settings.

Overall, this app is just one step below the official Blogger client in terms of adding new blog entries. However, it does seem to be a better blogger reading and comment client.

BloggerDroid has a very simple and PLAIN interface, and it looks positively low-tech. It only posts, not comments or readers. However, it is one of only two Android blogger clients that allow you to capture a picture, and post it immediately, instead of only allowing you to pick an existing picture from Gallery.

It also has no problem handling multiple blogs. 

The problem is this has a forced signature "posted from Blogger Droid" unless you get the paid version. And the look is positively outdated compared to the official blogger client.

This one should be just like BlogAway, albeit lighter in functions, and supposedly supports Wordpress blogs as well. However, during my tests, it just force closes after I setup my account.

It does look a bit more modern, but it can't read any of my blogs, much less post entries. With availability of BlogAway and Blogger, this app is worthless

AndroBlogger is seriously incomplete as it does not support multiple blogs. If you have multiple blogs, it will only edit the most recently edited blog. There is also no way to upload a picture to accompany the blog, making it essentially a text-only blogger client, and thus, virtually worthless.

Cons: no multi-blog support, no pictures or anything else

With the release of the official Blogger Client, mobile blogging will be more popular than ever. 

For now, the official Blogger app has a slight edge over the BlogAway client. Though you should be happy with either one. Try both, as they are free.
